Mustique Icon

A private sanctuary in the Caribbean, Mustique is a humble island when it comes to aesthetics and size (measuring less than three square miles). When it comes to its guests, it is anything but.

First developed in the mid-twentieth century by Scottish aristocrat Colin Tennant, the island has since attracted a constellation of famous names—from Princess Margaret to rock legends like Mick Jagger and David Bowie. With a no-paparazzi policy, the stars can disappear into the unspoiled paradise.

Mustique Icon immerses readers into this signature spirit of barefoot luxury. Beyond its turquoise shores and fragrant frangipani, Mustique’s magic lies in its rare balance of exclusivity and ease.

Days unfold at an unhurried pace—horseback rides along the beach, watching the sunset, or picnics on Macaroni Beach. Iconic villas hidden among the hills, whether traditional or modern in design, all champion the natural splendor of the island.

Mustique’s tight-knit community of locals and long-time visitors fosters a warmth that one would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. With sunrise swims in the Caribbean, long lunches at the Cotton House, and moonlit cocktails at Basil’s Bar, the sun chasers and relaxation seekers can always find a spot to bask in the island’s secluded elegance.
